In February I saw a post through one of my photography groups online by a girl looking for vacation photos while on a cruise. She and her boyfriend were taking a cruise through the Bahamas and stopping in Nassau, wanting some fun couples portraits to commemorate their vacation in the tropics. I reached out being only a hop, skip, and a jump away from the Bahamas, and Shelby was super excited to arrange for us to meet on the island of Nassau during their port day!
I flew out of Miami the morning of our shoot (can you believe the flight is less than an hour? Definitely the shortest flight I have ever been on!) and landed in Nassau shortly after. To my surprise the Nassau airport was super clean and nice with all of the modern updates you would hope to see. Miami was another story but that’s maybe a blog post for a different time.
Shelby and Travis (the beau!) had arranged with me to meet them at the Starbucks closest to port (leave it to me to visit a different country and go to a Starbucks) and we took off from there! Wandering around the streets of Nassau we saw so many colorful murals and buildings. I especially loved the greenery and was amazed by how lush everything was! We stopped at the Queen’s Staircase for some epic photos in the carved stone “hallway” leading to the stairs and of course couldn’t be in Nassau without visiting the beach.

When I'm not behind the camera, I love spending time with my dog hiking the beautiful Florida trails, out on my paddle board in our local springs, or spending quality time with my husband exploring local events. When it's been too long since my last beach day, I have cravings for that perfect mix of saltwater and ocean air.
