How to Elope in St. Augustine | Night of Lights Elopement

One of the most magical times of the year is coming up FAST – The Night of Lights in St. Augustine! If you’ve dreamt of eloping in St. Augustine under thousands of Christmas lights then THIS is the time to start planning.

Here’s what you can expect from a Night of Lights elopement:

  • Dreamy Christmas lights
  • Perfect weather (it’s our cooler, dry season!)
  • It’s free to see the lights
  • Old city vibes in the ancient Old Town

St. Augustine has tons of options for activities to add to your elopement too! Things such as horse + carriage rides, private boat charters to view the lights from the river, exploring local pizza and bakery shops, and you can even book helicopter tours!

Here’s a sample timeline for a Night of Lights elopement:

1p – Meet at Airbnb or bed and breakfast for getting ready and details.

3p – Head into the Old Town for exploring, stopping at a brewery, or renting Vespa scooters (other ideas include getting couple tattoos, visiting a museum, exploring the Castillo de San Marcos)

5p – Exchange vows along the river and say “I do!”

6p – 8p – Grab some hot chocolate and wander through the cobblestone streets enjoying the thousands of lights!

When I'm not behind the camera, I love spending time with my dog hiking the beautiful Florida trails, out on my paddle board in our local springs, or spending quality time with my husband exploring local events. When it's been too long since my last beach day, I have cravings for that perfect mix of saltwater and ocean air.
