Yacht Elopement In Southwest Florida | Take Me There Sailing

Venue: Take Me There Sailing

Dress: Eleanor’s Bridal

One of my favorite ways to spend a beautiful day in Florida is out on the water. For me this typically looks like my paddle board, my dog, and clear spring waters but for this Florida yacht elopement we took it to the high seas!

S+J had a day full of adventure that I can’t wait to share with you! We met at the docks in Punta Gorda, Fl where we boarded Take Me There which is run by husband and wife duo Kimberly and Steve Mitchell. The boat has not only one but TWO full bedrooms for guests, which means you can bring your closest family members or friends to share in the experience with you. Take Me There is a licensed restaurant and they are also stocked with beer and wine (they have a license which can’t be said for many charters) for you to enjoy while you’re onboard. Kim is amazing and tended to our every need, making sure we stayed hydrated (with water!) and had many options for snacks on hand when we got hungry.

Once we made our way out of the marina, S+J got in their bathing suits for some time relaxing on the swim deck. The water looked so amazing and if I didn’t have my gear I would have jumped in as well. In addition to swimming access the boat is stocked with kayaks and paddle boards for guests to enjoy which honestly sounds like so much fun!

After a swim and some refreshments from Kim, we made our way to “the spot” for S+J to exchange their vows. Storm clouds rolled in so we had to stick to just their personal vows, and then head back to safer waters for the ceremony. Once we made it back to the marina, Kim officiated S+J’s wedding (yes, she’s licensed as an officiant as well!), they said “I do”, and celebrated with cake and champagne! We took a few more photos around the yacht before I left S+J to enjoy the rest of their time onboard Take Me There.

A few things that are great about eloping on Take Me There:

  • This venue is all inclusive. They provide food, drinks, and your officiant!
  • In addition to kayaking and paddle boarding there are also snorkels, a floating island, and fishing gear for you to use. So many options to choose your own adventure for your wedding day!
  • You can choose a longer stay and also have your honeymoon on the yacht! Some of their most popular honeymoon destinations are the Dry Tortugas and remote islands which are only accessible by water.
  • Want to bring your best friends? There is plenty of room to hold up to 6 total guests.

When I'm not behind the camera, I love spending time with my dog hiking the beautiful Florida trails, out on my paddle board in our local springs, or spending quality time with my husband exploring local events. When it's been too long since my last beach day, I have cravings for that perfect mix of saltwater and ocean air.
