Kelly Park Rock Springs Elopement | Kristin & Greg

K&G’s Kelly Park Rock Springs Elopement Story

How did you and your significant other meet?

Originally through older siblings because we attended the same health and fitness center we crossed paths, but we didn’t become friends or more until 2008 and went in and out of each others lives on various levels until December 2021.

What are your favorite things to do together? What makes you two “you”?

Go on drives and road trips, traveling, and even just running errands together. As for what makes us”us” is our kind loving way of communicating with each other even during times of conflict, done with a lot of respect and to understand each other better and get to a resolution that benefits us over any one individual. We have unparalleled patience with each other, in ways that we don’t even have patience with others. We are a really well suited team to take on life’s valleys and peaks together.

Why do you want to elope?

We want the union to be the focus over the “event”! We would rather invest the time, energy, and money into each other and reaching our life goals together rather then spend it on some elaborate party that can sometimes feel is more for others’ benefits above the bride and groom’s. We are both close to our immediate family and want only the people closest to us to witness the union because that just makes the ceremony feel more intimate and sacred which is a reflection of how our relationship feels.

Planning Their Elopement Day

After our first meeting and hearing more about what K&G wanted from their day, we planned for a late afternoon elopement at Kelly Park/Rock Springs followed by a private dinner celebration back at their Airbnb. Planning an elopement at Kelly Park is super simple but K&G had never visited before so I sent them a map of the park with notes on where exactly I was imagining their ceremony taking place.

K&G’s Kelly Park Rock Springs Elopement Day

We started by meeting in the parking lot of Kelly Park so I could guide everyone to exactly where we needed to be. K&G expressed that they wanted a first look so while K was still in her car I took G down to our spot and set him up for the big reveal! It was so sweet watching them as they saw each other in their wedding clothes for the first time. Their family was there too so they also got to be a part of the moment!

K&G’s family brought camping chairs so they could sit during the ceremony and create an “aisle”. The couple also wanted to include their nieces and nephews in the ceremony so they walked down with bubble guns as K made her entrance. K’s dad officiated the wedding and her son gave her away to G. I absolutely loved all the personal touches and how involved their families were!

After the ceremony we took some take for family portraits and photos of K&G by the water before heading out to their Airbnb for a catered dinner. Their Airbnb was so cool and even had a “dungeon” themed game room inside as well as a pool in the backyard! We ate dinner, shared cake, and family made some toasts to the couple. Then we ended the night with K&G changing into swimsuits and jumping into the pool together!

P.S.

Check out their matching sneakers!! G customized the colors and added their wedding date on the heels.

When I'm not behind the camera, I love spending time with my dog hiking the beautiful Florida trails, out on my paddle board in our local springs, or spending quality time with my husband exploring local events. When it's been too long since my last beach day, I have cravings for that perfect mix of saltwater and ocean air.
