Jessie + Xavier | City Courthouse Vibes | Tampa Elopement Photographer

When Jessie and Xavier contacted me in search of a Tampa elopement photographer, I just knew we had to take our adventure to downtown Tampa, FL! This downtown Tampa elopement has all the city vibes and we even took photos in front of the old courthouse, now Le Meridien hotel.

Here’s some of J + X’s story:

Tell me your proposal story!

We rented a super cute airbnb by the beach and spent the weekend there together! Xavier proposed to me at sunset on the beach and we took polaroid’s throughout the weekend to remember it.

How did you and your significant other meet?

We met at one of the bars around UCF while we were in college. One of Xavier’s friends actually liked me and was trying to take me on a date but I saw Xavier in one of their pictures together and thought he was cute! LOL

What are your favorite things to do together? What makes you two “you”?

We like to play video games (although we play different games but still together), we like to workout at the gym, and we also like trying new vegan restaurants together!

Why have you chosen to elope/have an intimate wedding instead of a larger wedding?

Mostly cost reasons, we would rather spend the money on a house. We are also both introverts so the big attention, dancing, speeches thing wouldn’t be for us.

We woke up before dawn and I met J & X at the JW Marriott where we took some sweet photos of them getting ready together. X helped J into her dress and J helped X with the final details of his outfit. Once we were ready to head out to my super secret rooftop location, we hopped into the car in the dark with the city lights guiding our way. We made it to our ceremony location before the sun had risen and met up with one of the best officiants in central Florida, Ceremonies by Chrissy.

Chrissy performed an amazing ceremony and there were tears shed by all of us, I’m sure! The sun rose during J & X’s vows as they literally started a new dawn as husband and wife *cue the water works*. We spent some time after the ceremony enjoying the views and the sunrise, saying “I can’t believe you’re married!!” and sharing their first vegan cupcake as a married couple. Once we were done enjoying our birds-eye view of the city we headed down to the streets for photos in front of the old courthouse, along the Tampa Riverwalk, and even picked up some electric scooters to ride on!

I absolutely love being a Tampa elopement photographer and I’m so glad that I got to document J & X’s story. I hope you enjoy looking through their day and it inspires you for your own city elopement!

When I'm not behind the camera, I love spending time with my dog hiking the beautiful Florida trails, out on my paddle board in our local springs, or spending quality time with my husband exploring local events. When it's been too long since my last beach day, I have cravings for that perfect mix of saltwater and ocean air.
