Best Oregon Coast Elopement Locations (With Easy Access + Epic Views)

When most people think of eloping on the Oregon Coast, their minds go straight to Cannon Beach and Haystack Rock. And look, it’s beautiful. I get it! But if you’re willing to venture a little further, the Oregon Coast has some of the most dramatic, wild, and flat-out jaw-dropping scenery in the entire country. Rugged sea stacks jutting out of the Pacific, hidden beaches tucked beneath forested cliffs, sandstone dunes, and coastline so cinematic it honestly doesn’t look real. The best part about eloping on the coast is that so much of it is incredibly accessible! You don’t need to be a hardcore hiker to get those epic backdrops. Many of these locations are a short walk (or even just a pull-over) from Highway 101.  So, here’s my guide to the best Oregon Coast elopement locations with easy access and incredible views!

Why the Oregon Coast is Perfect for Elopements

The Oregon Coast is unlike any other coastline in the US. Forget the flat, sandy stretches you’d find in Florida or the Carolinas. Here you get towering basalt cliffs, sea caves, misty forests, wild surf, and tidepools filled with starfish, all packed into one of the most scenic highway drives in the country.

What makes it so ideal for elopements is the combination of drama AND accessibility. So many of these incredible locations are right off Highway 101, meaning you can literally pull over, take a short trail down to the overlook or beach, and be standing in front of some of the most breathtaking scenery in the Pacific Northwest.

My Favorite Oregon Coast Elopement Locations

Ecola State Park

Ecola State Park sits north of Cannon Beach and offers some of the most sweeping coastal views you’ll find anywhere on the Oregon Coast. We’re talking forested cliff trails, dramatic Pacific overlooks, and that moody PNW atmosphere that makes all the photos look so cinematic. The scenery here is a mix of deep green forest AND dramatic coastal views, and because it’s a short drive from Cannon Beach without being Cannon Beach itself, you’ll have significantly more breathing room.

Definitely check tide charts and plan accordingly, especially if you want to access the lower areas of the park!

 

Hug Point

You’ll find Hug Point south of Cannon Beach. This magical little spot has a waterfall that literally falls directly onto the beach, plus sea caves, tide pools, and rugged sandstone cliffs. It feels completely hidden and secluded even though it’s just a short walk from the parking area.

You need low tide to safely access the sea caves and the area around the waterfall, so always check the tide charts before you plan your ceremony time. And bring good shoes, because the rocks can be slippery!

 

Cape Kiwanda

At Cape Kiwanda, near Pacific City, you’ve got towering golden sandstone cliffs, the Pacific crashing below, and a sprawling sand dune that climbing feels like the main event here. Once you’re at the top, you have panoramic views of the ocean, the haystack rock offshore, and the coastline stretching in both directions. It’s also a great sunset location, with the west-facing exposure giving you those incredible golden hour colors right over the water.

 

Samuel H. Boardman Scenic Corridor

If you are willing to make the drive to the southern Oregon Coast, the Samuel H. Boardman Scenic Corridor is without question one of the most stunning stretches of coastline in the entire United States.

This 12-mile corridor along Highway 101 between Gold Beach and Brookings is packed with sea stacks, forested cliffs, hidden coves, and overlooks that will genuinely make your jaw drop. Turquoise water, white sand tucked between dramatic rock formations, and it is basically all to yourselves, because this area gets a fraction of the visitors that northern Oregon Coast spots do.

Secret Beach

Secret Beach is the crown jewel of the Boardman Corridor and one of my absolute favorite elopement locations. It sits around mile marker 345, roughly 10 miles north of Brookings. The trail down is short but steep, so you should definitely wear good shoes! But once you get there, you’re rewarded with a pristine sandy cove surrounded by towering sea stacks and dramatic cliffs.

As with the other locations on the list, you also want to visit this one during the low tide. The beach is tucked into the cliffs, which means the light filters in beautifully in the afternoon, but it also means it can get shaded earlier than an open beach would.

 

Other Oregon Coast Elopement Locations

The corridor has so much more to explore beyond Secret Beach! There are overlooks you can reach in under 5 minutes from your car that have views just as dramatic, hidden sand dunes, and sea stacks that look completely different depending on the light and tide. Oregon Coast Elopement Venues

If you want a more structured venue experience, or you’re bringing a small group of family or friends and want a private setting, the Brookings area has two incredible options I love recommending.

Crook Point

Crook Point is a private coastal estate located about 20 minutes north of Brookings, right in the heart of the Samuel H. Boardman area. It’s perched on 60-foot bluffs above the Pacific along a 3-mile stretch of historic coastline, and it has multiple ceremony spaces, including clifftop lawns, a hidden private beach, and dramatic overlooks with sea stacks in full view.

What makes Crook Point so special is the combination of total privacy and incredible views. They also have on-site vacation rentals perfect for getting ready or a mini-moon, and the property can accommodate anything from an intimate elopement to a larger wedding of up to 300 people.

 

Capella by the Sea

Tucked within Azalea Park in downtown Brookings, Capella by the Sea is one of the most unique ceremony spaces on the entire Oregon Coast. It’s a native wood and stone chapel with sweeping views of the Port of Brookings-Harbor, the Chetco River, and the Pacific Ocean beyond. It seats up to 49 guests comfortably.

Capella is particularly wonderful if you want a more traditional indoor ceremony space but still want that connection to the natural beauty of the coast. It’s also a brilliant backup option for rainy days, because you get a beautiful, atmospheric space without sacrificing the seaside setting.

Rentals start around $250 per hour for a 2-hour minimum, making it one of the most affordable and special venues on the coast.

 

Bonus: The Redwoods Are Less Than an Hour Away

The Brookings area is genuinely unbeatable for elopements, because Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park in Northern California is less than an hour’s drive south.

That means in a single elopement day (or across two days if you want to take your time), you can exchange vows among ancient cathedral redwoods in the morning and stand on dramatic Oregon Coast cliffs by afternoon. It’s one of the most epic elopement combinations I can imagine, and couples who make the trip to this corner of the Pacific Northwest are always blown away by just how much variety they can pack into their day.

Some locations don’t require a permit if your event is under 50 people. However, each location has its own set of rules and the rules tend to change often. Always check the official website or call the park office to get the most accurate and up-to-date info!
